ASVAB Study Guide: You Don’t Need To Study For Months
Do you fall asleep when you study too long? Or you get bored anything above an hour?
You can still pass the test.
Just a good book that explains the core part of the test. A very good one is ASVAB AFQT For Dummies.
The book focuses on the four main tests that actually count to get into the military.
You can check out other books out there that teaches you what you need to pass all the tests.
The Dummies book is just too good for someone like me.
The score in the AFQT comprises of the score you will need to get into the military.
AFQT is actually made up of Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge.
Those are the four test you really to score high on, that is why the Dummies book is just too good for me.
It is these four that the examiners will look at and use to decide if you are going to get in or not.
I pray you get in, Amen.
The book is small and you can finish it in less than a month if you study it an hour a day.
Additionally, the book gives you three tests that you can do to prepare for the actual test.
The Minimum Score You Need For Each Branch In The Exam
Obviously, the score you will need for each branch is different.
The ranges of scores in the ASVAB test is 0 to 99. 0 being the lowest and 99 the highest.
For marines, you need at least 31 to join. The Army is around 35, Navy 45, Air Force and Coast Guard 50.
Due to a lot of downsizing in the Military, it very difficult to get in.
Don’t be deceived by these score marks though because the marks just form the bases…
You have to score as high as possible.
There are many people that score more than the marks and didn’t get in.
You will surely score more than 50 if you really study the ASVAB AFQT for Dummies book.
And that is more than enough to get into the military.
There are many old people that got more than 50 after studying the Dummies book for ASVAB.
People that can’t remember the last time they read a book.
Smart ASVAB Tips And Tricks To Pass
Sleep well before the test
You have to get enough sleep the night before the test. The reason being that the test is long, around 4 hours in the exam hall.
Don’t rush out of the test
Some people will finish the test quickly, don’t let that discourage you or make you rush you test.
Remember, we all work at different pace.
The persons that submits 2 hours before might not necessary score more than you. You even have an advantage over the person.
It important you visit the bathroom before the test.
Come to think of it, 4 hours is pretty long and you are not allowed to leave the exam hall till after you finish the test.
Things could be messy if you need to visit the bathroom during the test. It will affect your decision making for sure.
How many answers to answer?
Answer all the questions because it gives you the chance to score. There is no penalty ticking the wrong answer.
ASVAB Written Or Computer
You have the options of taking the test in written for or using a computer. Each has its merits and demerits.
Written form takes longer time and the computer form is faster but…
On computer, you can’t go back to an answer and change it and that can really matter.
Most people do better on the written form because they can go back and change the answers.
You can also hit the wrong key on the computer and you can’t change anything after you press the next button.
Make sure your hands are away from the keyboard to prevent mistakenly pressing the wrong key.
